A single stack 1911 which I am assuming you are talking about is best suited for Single Stack or Limited 10.Only DA first shot or striker fired guns are allowed in Production provided they are on the list

The only list of approved pistols applies just to production division. The other divisions have restrictions that apply but not a list of specifically approved pistols.

+1, any 1911 no matter the caliber is a single stack gun or a limited gun, single stack has it own gun rules. like no full length dust covers, i do believe.

Interesting. How does this relate to three gun?

the 45 cal. is the only pistol you can use in heavy metal. BUT,

with that said if shoot it well and good on reloads you CAN use it in the other divisions. we shot with a someone who used his SS 1911 45 in Benning 2 years ago

because he said he shot better than his hi cap. as i remember he did well with it and you could not tell at all that it slowed him down any.
