Tent camping? Henry Horton or Davy Crocket?

Takin the wife camping next weekend. All I want is to pitch a tent and nurse a campfire for two days in peace. Maybe swim a little.

Crockett. The "facilities" are nice and rather clean. Nicest park in the state IMHO.

I agree it is nice and clean. However, it is pretty crowded / boring. But, maybe I think that because i live VERY close.

In the Tri-Cities? Crockett is in Lawrenceburg.

Haven't been to Crockett, but used to camp at Horton quite a bit when the son and I were in scouts. They have a nice primitive camping area with facilities within walking distance. I've heard that the lodge restaurant serves a good breakfast buffet.

Crockett is nice and there is a pretty nice swimming hole with a little waterfall.

We stayed at Henry Horton last summer, and really enjoyed it.

While I've never been to it Horton has a skeet range. Our next camping trip will probably be there to take advantage of it.

If you want to drive a little farther try old stone fort. We camped there last fall and liked it.

If you go to Horton, be sure to try the Mexican restraunt in Chapel Hill. Its good and they have XX on tap.
