Photos of my Munich trip

I'm fresh back from Munich, Germany, visiting my daughter and grand-children (and must include the son-in-law in there, too!)

I send messages to our church missionaries about this and that, and made a web page about my Munich trip, in case any of you might be interested to see some photos...

Munich is definitely a great vacation city! We lucked out on the weather, almost 60 degrees and sunny in February a few days.

Gotta love Europe. I have family from Germany -lots of old world charm in those great old cities. Yeah, great food too. I have no idea how that stuff does not kill them all. Just looking at it clogs my arteries!

I lived about 60 km from Munich for 6 years courtesy of my Uncle Sam. Went to Munich a lot-- I have been to the Deutsches Museum twice- and I even saw Tom Petty play there in the assembly hall (1984 or so). Thanks for the pics-- lotsa memories triggered for me, most of them are good ones.

Hitler got his real start there at the Hofbrau Haus.

outstanding. I've always wanted to visit Germany and haven't got the chance yet. Munich would certainly be one of my points of interest.

nice Pics Mouse!!

I was thinking of some jagerschnitzel, blaukraut, kassebrochen and a tall glass of pills. :D

*sigh* I ate so well in germany it wasn't funny. and I always loved their fountains.

One thing I will always remember...I saw a keystone on a building that was erected in 1954. it was chiseled in High German, and said "erected in 1954. "In hard times built".

I would hope that if we ever had hardships like they had, that they would come to our aid like we did theirs in times past..but I don't count on it.

before you folks flame me for the notion of foreign troops on American soil...let me just say, its been done before..if you remember the revolution, we had french and prussian instructors and volunteers in drill and ceremony and tactics. *note that most of us countryfolks didn't USE those tactics..but its' the thought that counts.

We presently have several thousand foreign troops on American soil. Fort Benning is the home of the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation. This was formerly known as the School of the Americas or Escuela de las Américas when it was located in Panama. I used to work with them in South Ga./North Fl. shortly before their permanent relocation to Benning back in the mid 80's. I also used to travel to a remote campus/training facility south of Ft. Riley. This of course does not include the many other "exchange programs" we participate in with foreign military commands.
