Why is it...

... when a fly gets inside your vehicle, out of the 1000+ cu-in. of interior space, it feels the need to occupy the 100 cu-in. between your nose and the windshield? :)

That is the dumbest thing I've ever seen, I just don't get it, but is very true. Mosquito's do the same thing, they will bounce across the windshield and your window. But as soon as you swat at them, they disappear, they don't fly anywhere, they just disappear and show up a few minutes later....yep, between you and the windshield!

A lot of insects are attracted to the carbon dioxide we exhale, that is usually why they are buzzing around our head.

Yup.

Maybe thats why my grandpa and daddy always said if you hold your breath when you go into a shed with wasps they wouldn't sting you.

Crank the a/c up on high and crack a window. mosquitos and flies hate the cold air and will be attracted to the warmth ;)

I'll try that. It sounds better than my method of rolling down all the windows, and swatting at the fly while weaving all over the road.

Could be worse:

A friend of mine was driving down the interstate and looked over her shoulder to see this uninvited passenger!!!

 Yeah, I'd say so.

You just need to crack the window just enough to create a suction that sucks them out. A "smokers crack" is usually perfect.

Works every time ;)

Not sure that's worse. It's outside the car, isn't going to fly up my nose (yes, I've had that happen), and it's easy enough to just grab and toss it into the bushes.

That's very interesting though. How long did it ride?

Not sure how long, she did almost run off the road, large shoulder helped. She is terrified of snakes, she was not happy. She said she was driving along and looked over out her window and there he was.

That sounds hilarious. Though I'm sure she didn't think so.
