Tennessee senators refile bid to expand forest » Knoxville News Sentinel

Is this a good thing for the Citizens of the State? Does adding "Wilderness Designation" to 20,000 acres of Cherokee National Forrest limit the ability of the average Citizen to utilize the area? Will it add to the ability of hunters to enjoy their Constitutional Right to hunt in that area of Tennessee, or will it restrict it?

Is it pandering to U.N. Agenda 21?

It's probably a good deal for all outdoors enthusiasts, not just hunters. Hunting is allowed in National Forests. All state laws are applicable for hunting and firearms carry. Most national forests have hiking, camping, boating, canoeing, mountain biking, etc. I see no reason to be upset by this. Most of the lands that are located on National Forests are not very useful for anything other than growing trees (which can be commercially harvested), any way. The lands are just managed by the National Forest Service for our future timber needs. Don't get National Forests confused with National Parks. They are two different entities entirely.

As long as you don't mind walking in to do that hunting, fishing and bird watching. As soon as it gets the Wilderness Area designation, all vehicular traffic, even bicycles are prohibited. Also, no logging of any type, rotational or any kind will be allowed, meaning climax forest that supports very little wildlife.

Still researching, but it appears that unless you like to hike and carry everything in and out, you are precluded from entering.

You can horseback in ...but you have to haul the poop out. Most people don't and it's pretty hard to prove it's your horse who laid the brown egg...but it's still on the Wilderness books. Wyoming and Montana have Wilderness Areas up the yazoo and I've dug archaeological sites in a few. The fun sites are the WW2 planes and more modern helicopter crashes.

They call it archaeology but it's mostly trash removal.
