Maybe ignorance isn't bliss?

So I pull up to a traffic light on my way to work this morning. It's the type with sensors in the road to trigger the light. This particular light has 3 sensors.

Moron #1 is the first car. He's sitting half way into the intersection, nearly a car length beyond the sensors. Moron #2 is the second car. She's sitting a good 100 ft behind him, not yet covering the sensors. She's also got her right turn signal on. I'm behind her.

The light changes for the opposing traffic, but ours stays red. I can see moron #1 waving his arms around and beating on the steering wheel. When the cross traffic starts going again, he backs up onto the sensor. I honked gently at moron #2 in an attempt to get her to move up to trip the sensor. She didn't move an inch and gave me the finger. :D

So the light cycles again and the opposing turn lane gets a green arrow. As soon as they start to move, moron #1 rolls forward into the intersection uncovering the sensor. Guess what? No green light again. When the opposing traffic clears, he runs the red light. Moron #2 honks at him and waves her arms around, but doesn't move an inch. Mind you, by her still flashing turn signal she apparently wants to turn right and is still at least 100 ft from the intersection. :stick:

While waiting through yet another cycle, I honk gently again and get the finger for my efforts, again. And she still hasn't moved an inch. By this time there's 6-8 cars behind me. I can see those folks clearly sharing my frustration. So I went around her and pulled up to the line. She honked, gave me the finger yet again, and I can hear her cussing now. I smile and wave politely. :taunt:

Like magic, within a minute or two we get a green light. As I pulled away I could see moron #2 still cussing me.

Maybe ignorance isn't bliss after all.

I usually just get right up on the bumper of people like that and they scoot forward a bit. They may think you're a prick for tailgating but it gets 'em where they need to be to trip that sensor.

Yesterday I got caught trying to get on I-40 East in Nashville. I was already running late and of course 3 cars decided to completely block the intersection so when my light was green I missed it completely. I was 3 cars back and an ambulance comes up behind me. My light was still red, so everyone is trying to make a path by pulling as far into the outer lanes as we can without hitting other cars. The ambulance is very impatient blaring his horn. The light turns green and the first person in my lane goes, but everyone else sits still as if it's illegal to move with an ambulance behind you. If the morons in front of me had moved the ambulance could have easily gotten by. So I missed the second light. And then I get caught on I-65 south With major traffic from a van that caught fire. What a frustrating day!

they walk among us.

That statement would imply that intelligent people are a majority and idiots are scattered in and around us. That's absolutely false. To be correct, "We walk among them" for public at large, the sheeple, the masses...idiots the, lot of them. Erik, surely you must be able to relate to Lot and how he must've felt, searching for the righteous. Much the same looking for someone who is not a simple minded automaton of the grid.

Had similar experience with ambulances and/or firetrucks. The emergency vehicle is stuck 4 cars back and people won't freakin' go for a green light! I'll bet they are the same people that sit and wave at one another to go at a 4-way stop. Just GO!! :D

Sad but true.

This thread has the potential to be better than the "sissified TGO'rs" thread....

My mother referred to the ninety-eight percent, it took me a few years to catch on. Now I think it was a conservative estimate.
