I actually think that Flo (on the Progressive commercials) is pretty hot. Not even sure I could say why but hot nonetheless.

Over the years my minimum specification of what passes for "hot" has widened considerably.

Boy, where to begin on the TV commercials:

1) Fox and Farmer "two for you" and their stupid computer animations.

2) Ogle, Elrod, & Baril and their stupid "we come to you" BS with the helicopter and the speedboat.

3) Cialis. I effing HATE those! Guy sneezes, his wife gets all hot an bothered, the house turns into an exotic jungle, and they are naked in bathtubs in the woods.

4) Pajama jeans.

5) That "GOLD!" commercial with that douche G Gordon Liddy

6) Any cat food commercial because I just don't like cats.

Radio:

1) Any commercial narrated by Phil Williams. That guy's voice and idiotic sense of humor grate on every last nerve I have. I totally quit listening to talk radio in Knoxville because of that guy's voice.

2) Those stupid Gemstone Designs commercials where they make it sound like their highbrow overpriced store is THE only place where good civilized folk sell their gold. News flash: From personal experience, they are the WORST in Knoxville on their gold buying prices. I got $200 from Kell's for an old ring that Gemstone Designs offered me $125 for.

Yeah, Flo has a certain "Say my name!" quality about her.

i dont even pay attention anymore. they're all obnoxious and annoying. i just hit the mute button, greatest invention ever. ever since 2000, all the Super Bowl commercials have pretty much sucked too. every now and then there's a good one, but not too often.

I think that all these mentions are certainly a waste of the company's money. But I should have and cant believe no one has yet mentioned....

ANY and ALL of the new medicines commercials.....Can they get any dumber? And in some cases more gross?

So the drug passed some short control tests, we have no idea about long term use but you MUST have it now!...Ask your Doctor for it, I mean he is only a Doctor and you know what is best for you because you watch TV. :D

They are disgusting. And then when you hear all of the side effects that they must read it leaves me wondering why the heck anyone would ever take half of that crap to begin with.

We have also seen the progression from new drug and commercial to a few years later the ambulance chaser ads going after the companies because of all the bad things that their fantastic new drug caused.:D

It is safe to say that I dont like any commercials. Our remote controls are great inventions but the Mute button is by far their best feature.

Pretty much any political campaign commercials. They make me dislike all candidates regardless of their positions.

We might be in a lull right now, but it'll be picking up again before long.

Didn't think of this one, don't see 'em often but those Cook's Pest Control comercials bug me "Looky, looky, looky. Here comes Cooky. Cook's Pest Control." Those things.

Back when the commercials listing all the side effects were a relatively new thing, I used to find it amusing to wait until they finish the list then add, in the most announcer-like voice I could manage, "...and spontaneous human combustion." Got a few chuckles out of it but eventually even that got old.

I also have to add the Carfax 'Car Fox' commercials to the list. Lame, local commercials that come across like lame, local commercials are bad, enough but national commercials that come across like lame, local commercials are even worse.

Speaking of lame, local commercials, how about 'Old Ben Franklin Motors' and that stupid ass 'We own the bank," slogan? Maybe I am a little bias, though, because I don't like the way they do business (or used to, anyhow.) A few years back, I changed jobs and cashed out my retirement account at the old job. I needed to trade vehicles and decided to use the retirement money to pay cash for a newer, used one. I stopped at Old Ben Franklin to look at one, particular vehicle on their lot. When I asked the salesman the price, he said, "Well, let's go inside and look at your finances and see what we can do." I said, "You don't understand. I am shopping around, intend to pay cash and just want to know the price." The response, again, was, "Well, come on inside and we'll sit down and take a look at your finances." About that time, I got pissed and said, "My finances don't make a damn bit of difference. I told you that I intend to pay cash and I simply wanted to know the price of this car. If the price is going to change based on how much you think you can get out of me then just forget I asked because I don't want to deal with someone that crooked, anyhow."

my worst ones on radio any of the first things first w/ julie bumguardner. the absurd and asinine senarios shes trying to tell parrents to talking to their teens about just get on my last nerve. yeah, every teen who goes to prom ends up at a cocaine induced hotel orgy... right.... ok lady, go jump of a bridge so you better understand the experience and you can then teach chattanoogs youth about it.

the other one that makes we want to carve my hammer anvil and annulus bones out of my ear canal is the rhinoshield... its so annoying.

Also, TVA's 'Green Power Switch' initiative commercials. Shoot me now.

YES. I live in Memphis. We are nowhere near "the valley" and I don't give a flip about getting green power to "the valley" (no offense, central and east Tennesseeans). Plus, the guys voice is so annoying that IF I were ever going to give money to the green power switch, I wouldn't do it now.

+ 1 to the "get cash now" opera commercials

+ 1 to the TVA radio ads that are supposed to sound like they're from the 40's

and......

the "education connection" go to college in your pajamas ad.

Amen (again) the the TVA radio ads. As far as the "get cash now" commercials, I agree - but at my daughter's college, they are known to throw open their dorm windows at random and scream at the top of their lungs, "It's my money ... and I need it NOW!" It ends up with 8 - 10 people with their windows open screaming across the quad. Now THAT is funny. ;-)

+1 to most of what has been listed.

Local Knoxville Talk Radio: The too clever by half Jewelry commercials where the owner with the *really* irritating voice makes all the silly puns: "Earring aids" and such.

TAXMASTERS! I'm thinking somewhere in the evolution of that commercial, someone told that man "you really don't have the look for TV and shouldn't do your own commercial, and he ignored them.

Any infomercial where the demonstration of the problem they can solve for you is obviously intentionally F'd up by the actor.

+1 to db99wj. Commercials are too loud. Unfortunately, I believe the FCC rule is they can make the whole commercial 20% louder than the loudest audio spot in the show. So if someone shouts, there is a car crash, explosion, or gunshot they can broadcaast it at +20% volome. Got the spot for the Mute button in my muscle memory!

-All of the Carnival Kia ads (That guy hasn't bought a new belt since the 1980s)

-Bart Durham ads (ALL of them! They are horribly annoying)

My all time favorite annoying ad: Fleming Fine Furniture commercials in Memphis (late 1980s). His screeching little kids were the most annoying EVER!

Mattress King

Any car commercial where I'm being screamed at

The ads for the meatloaf cooker with the bald guy with the gaps in his teeth ("But I ain't stoppin' there!!"). Is he trying to be the next Billy Mays or something? Dude needs a pie in the face.

INFOMERCIALS!!!!

The commercial on TV that causes instant outburst from me is one by "Vista Print" for business cards. "DJ NUSS", has got to go..."Oh Yeah"......!!!!!!
