From the Bill:

(a) A person commits an offense who intentionally:

(4) Communicates with another person

or transmits or displays an image in a manner in which there is a reasonable expectation that the image will be viewed by the victim

by [by telephone, in writing or by electronic communication] without legitimate purpose:

But,

"lmage" includes, but is not limited to, a visual depiction, video clip or photograph of another person;

So gun pr0n would be ok?

"The new legislation adds images to the list of communications that can trigger criminal liability. But for image postings, the "emotionally distressed" individual need not be the intended recipient. Anyone who sees the image is a potential victim. If a court decides you "should have known" that an image you posted would be upsetting to someone who sees it, you could face months in prison and thousands of dollars in fines.

I firmly believe in freedom of religion and am just using this as an example. I don't care what religion anyone is if it suits them, but...

If I'm reading this right, if a child wins a 4 H competition for his prize pig and his proud parent posts a picture of said pig on Facebook or the Internet, odds are it's going to be offensive to muslims cause pork seems to generally offend the Muslim faithful."

I have seen many disturbing things on the Internet (and it is true somethings you just can't unsee) but you don't have to look at them if you don't want to. I am personally offended by super baggy pants but I think if someone wants to wear them or even if they want to post a picture of it on the Internet, I don't have to look.

Could you please propose a law putting a 10 year moratorium on making new laws?

It's a shame that there probably aren't any legislators in our state legislature who will even understand your letter; much less act on it...if they had ANY common sense at all they would have never passed this ridiculous law (or many other equally ridiculous laws).

I sent a letter to many of our state legislators and Gov. Haslam after the close of their activities this year because of, what I believe, is an extremely disappointing session for gun owners in particular and conservatives in general after DECADES of so-called conservative Republicans pleading for voters to give them control...not a single recipient has even acknowledged receiving my letter much less responded to it...I suspect your letter will receive a similar lack of response.

Yeah I agree whole heartedly, less and less changes when the parties switch over now despite all the rhetoric. I do not believe there is an actual differece anymore if there ever was one.

I am really thinking of urging my senator and house rep to act on this new sitting information.

And this law is a clear example of why the Republicans are no different or better than the Democrats. They are BOTH for bigger government and the infringement of our rights and freedoms. It's all about power, money and control and our political system is nothing more than a game to see which side can amass more of it and there is only one way to fix it.
