new LCR... it rattles

I walked into G&L, and walked out with a new ruger LCR.

I have not shot it yet, but when i got home and handled it, i noticed a rattle, like there is something loose inside.

does anyone have any insight to this... i dont like the rattle.

Unloaded, probably transfer bar. SP101's have very slight rattle there, too.

Loaded, the cartridges will of course rattle, like in any revo.

That's the transfer bar. Sounds like safety.

It's part of the Incovenience Package. They all rattle.

everyone is right. It is the transfer bar. Mine does it too but I don't even notice it anymore.

My LCR 357 makes the same sound as yours. Seen lots of comments in other forums and it is common to all of them.

No. Its the recoil dampening system in the handle. It rattles in all the LCR's if you shake it hard.

As a result, a hammer blow can be transmitted to the firing pin only when the trigger is pulled all the way to the rear. This is a positive internal safety feature. By design, the transfer bar is allowed some movement within the fire control mechanism so that trigger pull is not affected. I should have looked it up rather than repeat what a gun store clerk told me when I bought my LCR. LOL

It's broken, just send it to me, I will waste my time exploring ways to fix it, by shooting it repeatedly !!!
