Leather guys...I GOT SHAFTED...

Evidently you missed the part where I said I'd jumped through all their hoops. They have all my bank info.

They eventually returned the money to the purchaser "because you didn't claim the money within the PayPal 90 day limit" Now I buy on ebay and pay with paypal..I will not sell on ebay using paypal as my collector.

Then you haven't sold on eBay in some long while, because you MUST accept PayPal as payment, or offer your own credit card processing. You cannot even mention money orders or checks and there is no option for such in the online auction format or TurboLister. You can accept cash for onsite pickup at your place only, last time I checked TOS.

this just in...a typed in description from an ebay add

This walnut stock is semi-inletted and I cannot find any flaws, what you see is what you get. If you buy and it's not what you thought, my return policy is pretty liberal, you will only be out the return shipping. It measures 33 inches in length overall, and the screwholes for the trigger guard/floorplate assembly measure right at 7 3/4 inches center to center. The trigger guard inlet measures 8 3/8 inches end to end, and the magazine well is 1 1/16 wide at the widest point. Will ship in the US for $12, and will accept Paypal, check or MO. Questions welcome, thanks for looking!

Notice the paypal, check or MO?

...Notice the paypal, check or MO?

If anyone reports it, they'll nuke his stuff, probably ban him if repeated.

Also, of course, you can't do checkout with that option, and perhaps most importantly, eBay won't protect/reimburse the buyer if he gets shafted.

Like much of real life, you get away with stuff on eBay until you don't.

I didn't realize they had done this, but it makes sense. eBay owns PayPal and that's their way of forcing people to use their service, which of course is done for a modest fee. So, eBay has figured out how to get money from the listing fees, money from the final selling fees, and money from the payment. Nice...

In eBay's stead I must admit that they've lowered the listing fees several times, and run promotions to even lower the existing ones. Though they take more from sale, at least you don't get flogged as bad for things that don't sell.

And of course they've swayed the "safety net" drastically to the buyer. Sellers can't leave bad feedback at all for couple years now, even if buyer was total deadbeat, got a non-paying-buyer citation, whatever.

I haven't followed Ghooge's probs enough to understand why he can't get relief from eBay/Paypal, whatever, as they almost always find for the buyer unless it's very clear the seller was at no fault at all.

if your talking about the OP...GreaseMonkeyChoppers...

my original seat and order...looks nothing alike!

Harley Chopper bobber LaRosa Rustic Leather Skull Seat | eBay

I would contact La Rosa Designs with a copy of the Ebay ad & a picture of what you recieved if you don't get anywhere with paypal. You never know. They make work with you since a vendor of there's is selling 2nd grade items. I checked out their site and looks like they've got good stuff. The seat advertised sells for $229.99 on La Rosa's site. Obviously you got something different. Looks to me like the seller bought a plain seat from them and tried to add the design himself. From looking at the sellers feedback, there's not a chance I would have bought an item from him. He's had a lot of negative feedback for selling bad La Rosa items that don't match the description. I hope things work out for you, though.
