Wife went shopping this morning leaving me with 4 kids at the last moment. She did not get back in time for me to leave and be on time to the match. I am looking forward getting back out there.

Id really like to get into the competitive shooting scene but idk if I have the equipment it takes. I'm guessing a stock xd 40 wouldn't hold up.

XD-40 will be fine. Strong side holster. Three mags and a mag carrier recommended but you can stick them in your pocket. And ammo of course. There is a match Saturday the 18th at the MCTS range in Dickson. Come on out. New shooters are welcomed. Check the website for directions and recommended stuff.

If you have the standard XD gear then you have just about everything needed. I shot a stock XD40 the first year I did IDPA. The most important thing is to just come out and shoot either with our club or one of the others. You won't regret it..
