Worse than a kid the night before Christmas!

THE COUNT DOWN HAS BEGUN! 5 days and counting!

I feel like a kid the night before Christmas!

Well, I cant decide between excitement and anxiety!

This Friday we finish loading the van and trailer and start our journey East to our new life in Nashville!

No matter what any one can tell you or how much you can read on line and no matter how much research you do. You just never know what to really expect from a new city.

We get excited when we read postings from great people that love there city and then we read postings from those that dont really care for where they live and can only point out the negative we get a good case of "what the hell" did we commit to!

We did months of research of several citys with the Pros and Cons of each and all in to compare with where we currently live (Vegas) and we decided on TN either Knox or Nash and the wife just ended up with a job in Brentwood. We have been packing and cleaning for over a month now and it has finally come down to the LAST 5 DAYS IN VEGAS!

I am looking forward to a change in scenary and for sure a change in people (locals)!

Good luck with your move.

Relocation can be an exciting event. We have done it three times. Twice was to get the kids in a better environment, the last was to be nearer to home.

There was always a lot of emotion involved. It can get a little overwhelming.

You will have to make an attempt to come to the next organized TGO shoot in the Nashville / middle TN area.

Drive safe, leave Sodom & Gomorrah behind you.....and a preemptive welcome to patron state of shootin' stuff.

I've been to Vegas a couple of times. I can't imagine how challenging it would be to raise a family there. I think you will enjoy it here, except for the humidity. I've lived here 14 years and it still sucks.

Many of us have lived here all our lives and don't know any different......and it still sucks:)

For the record though, I wouldn't wanna be anywhere else.

I have two friends who moved here to east tn from las vagas and will never move back.

Nashville isn't my favorite of the TN cities, but it certainly isn't bad. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Wecome!

Have a great trip and drive safely. We'll all welcome you when you arrive.

Welcome in advance. You are going to learn about two things very foreign to you as soon as you arrive. Humidity and allergies. As soon as you learn to deal with these two issues, I believe you will be very happy here.

Thanks for all the welcoming words. I turn 40 in 3 days to boot! So this week is a week full of rollercoaster emotions between my wife and I as well as our 2 year old. We will miss a few things about the west coast. But I have always had more of a "Good ole boy" mentality any how! And the wife HATES Vegas! We are making a few stops along the way to vist friends in other states so we will be in Nashville by the 15th. Hopefully everyone is as friendly as everyone on this forum is. If so it should make our transition very pleasant! There is another forum guy doing the same thing tomorrow UberDuper, but hes lucky and gets to FLY! SO I wish him and his family safe passage to TN Also!
