It is probably one of those scam sites where you are bidding on the opportunity to buy the item.

You win the auction at $100 to get the chance to buy the gun for $1000. I read something on them before, and that is how they work. Try and find the fine print.

It says something about buying a bid package, but not much else I guess you have to register to find out more. Which I'm not going to do

It looks similar to BeeZid. You buy your bids up front and bid as much as you want. The stuff on BeeZid sells cheap sometimes, but not really.

If it's like BeeZid or QuiBids, you buy "bid tokens" at .60 each. Everytime someone bids, the item increases by .01. You're not buying from a person like eBay or Gunbroker, you're buying from the website company. So, if something sells for 9.00, yeah, you got a good deal, especially if you only bid once, but the company sold 900 .60 bids.

Yea I figured that out from the first time I saw the commercial I figured it was akin to gambling and I am surprised they have not been shutdown yet.

I have seen very smart people not figure it out and are all over it. I even over heard the pharmacists at Walgreens talking about it. I figured they would no better. I guess not.

I was just looking at the site. I don't know if it is all auctions, but the one I was looking at kept increasing the time remaining. Then I saw the fine print that said with each bid, the time increases by 30 sec. The way I understand it is that you pay for each bid, then you also pay the finished auction price. It sounds like these auctions could last forever and get really expensive if you get in on one on the ground floor.

On those type of site you loss the tokens once you bid on them so they actually make money on you if you don't win. The tokens are not refunded to you if you loss the bid.
