It isn't much to look at, but it is my first wheel-gun. Picked up this Ruger LCR (.357) yesterday.

Hopefully I'll have a chance to take it to the range this weekend!

Yeah, 357 out of a 17oz gun is bound to sting a little.

At least you can do some/most of your shooting in .38 rather than .357. Cut down a bit on the pain in your hands and wrists AND your wallet.

Do yourself a favor and pick up some 38 Spl target loads on the way to the range. You'll thank me later.

Can you get a nice squishy Hogue grip for that LCR? I know it did wonders for my SP101.

I've heard nay sayers, but I personally think the fluting on the cylinder is the bees knees too. It's different.

They're not pretty, but they're good pistols. My M&P 340 is 13oz and is a handful with full house .357 loads. The LCR is the same. Roughly analogous to trying to catch a baseball bat. Make sure you're grip is good, and you should be fine.

if you look closely, most of the LCR's come with a Hogue grip, including the one in the picture.

The CT grips for the LCR are actually much much worse than the Hogue. They are a hard plastic material vs the Hogue rubber.
