First revolver in my collection..

It isn't much to look at, but it is my first wheel-gun. Picked up this Ruger LCR (.357) yesterday.

Hopefully I'll have a chance to take it to the range this weekend!

At least you can do some/most of your shooting in .38 rather than .357. Cut down a bit on the pain in your hands and wrists AND your wallet.

They're not pretty, but they're good pistols. My M&P 340 is 13oz and is a handful with full house .357 loads. The LCR is the same. Roughly analogous to trying to catch a baseball bat. Make sure you're grip is good, and you should be fine.

I've got a friend who bought an LCR and sold it after firing it one round. He swore the pistol tried to tear his finger off!

your friend needs to harden up!! sounds like a big wuss :P

recoil really isn't that bad in the LCR.

Can you get a nice squishy Hogue grip for that LCR? I know it did wonders for my SP101.

if you look closely, most of the LCR's come with a Hogue grip, including the one in the picture.

The Crimson Trace grips tame it a little bit.

The CT grips for the LCR are actually much much worse than the Hogue. They are a hard plastic material vs the Hogue rubber.
