Fantastic first visit - Village Gunsmith in Morristown

Recently I purchased a set of XS 24/7 Big Dot sights for my Para Carry C7.45. I was going to install them myself but saw they were going to take a bit of filing and I did not want to take a chance on damaging them since they cost me $120. I decided to take them to a gunsmith.

I took them down to a new store in downtown Morristown called Village Gunsmith. The store is operated by Ivan and his father Helton was working there as well. Several people came in to get fingerprinted while Ivan was working on installing my sights.

These had to be some of the nicest people I have ever met. Ivan took his time and went through some brass punches getting the sights installed. The sights would not fit in his sight press. It took him quite a while to get them installed but when done he only charged me $20 for the installation. $20 well spent and saved me numerous cuss words.

I asked him his price on transfers and they are $20 plus the $10 for the background check. Their stock is not huge but they are just starting out. I also mentioned the forum to him and believe he will be taking a look and see.

It was neat to find out they had moved down here from my old hometown, Georgetown, KY. I enjoy meeting people who have that nice small town, friendly approach to business and don't try to take advantage of you on pricing. Check them out if you are ever in Morristown.

Now I have to make a date with my Para to go test out the sights. Just from looking at them I can see where you can pick up your target quickly. I can't wait to test them and let everyone know how they work.

Every time I drive by there I think to myself, I need to stop in there. And then I think about where to park and then I drive on. I know it's not that hard to find a parking place but it's just not as convenient as an actual parking lot. I'm sure I'll visit them soon. Thanks for the report.
