Why don't you give the whole story so we can understand what happened?

If you don't feel like reading the next few pages of nonsense, I'd say the cliff notes are that this guy will attempt to justify his actions with some great amount of mental gymnastics and his proof of being right will be that he wasn't convicted of anything. He'll admit to no wrongdoing and make it seem as if the whole world is against him, then debunk the naysayers by saying "you don't know because you weren't there."

Maybe.  That said, if he was able to articulate why he had a reasonable belief that he was acting in self defense to the point that the charges were dropped then I, for one, would at least like to hear it.  Extreme actions or not, agree with his actions or not, if the charge really were dropped then there has to be some reason.

The fact that he dredged a dead thread to bring further heaps of insults upon himself indicates that he did not learn his life-lesson a few years ago.  Older, more wise humans would likely let that one drop off into the dust-bin of forgotten memories. Proverbs 26:11

To quote the late Lewis Grizzard, "I could've headed this whole thing off, but I was intrigued so I just waited..."

I would like to hear what the justification for self defense was.

It would either be a justified self defense situation OR a case where witnesses did not show. I do not believe the court would rule it as justified, as he claims, just because the witnesses did not show. If the witnesses did not show they would likely have just dismissed the case rather than rule it justified. But in the end I believe, like Duck says, it was a case of the witnesses not showing up and the court deciding to dismiss the case due to lake of evidence. Then because the case was dismissed Mr Bogle believes, mistakenly, that it means it was justified. There is a big difference between a court ruling it as justified and a court dismissing the case. Just because a case is dropped doesn't mean a crime was not committed, just that it may not be able to be proven (lack of witnesses) or that it is cheaper to drop the case than prosecute. Sounds like he got extremely lucky but as we all know people like this will eventually find themselves under the scrutiny of the law again.

I contacted the courts but unfortunately they do not have an online research tool like some other counties.

Considering that his one and only post was at 1 in the morning, I doubt he'll be back to elaborate even if it's a "lake" of evidence.

Sorry, I couldn't resist.
