Finally Bought My First Revolver Today

Recommended Posts

Me and revolvers never got along to well in the past due to grip issues, but I found one today I had to bring home. A Ruger Super Redhawk in .44 magnum with a 9 1/2" barrel. Due to the foul weather I didn't get to try her out today, but I've got a box of ammo ready and waiting for the sun to come out. :wall:

Congratulations!

So you went from not liking wheelguns guns to one of the biggest made? Not caliber, just size. :wall: Those Rugers can handle anything you want to put through it.

Are you trying to make up for something shorter?:wall: That thing is long!

I have never seen a revolver rifle before.:D

You can go deer hunting with it & if you miss, you can just bonk him on the head with it. It'll probably reach.

Nice.

Reminds me of the revolver the Joker pulled out of his pants to shoot down the Batplane in the first Batman movie.

Good looking! I have a 6 inch Colt Anaconda .44 magnum. Be ready to talk to people at the range!

Very impressive wheel gun. I'm sure it won't be your last.

Well I've always heard people say, "go big or go home". I think we all know which one you did.

I've got the .454 casull/.45lc super red hawk. It's defiantly a smooth shooting revolver and a real attention grabber at the range. I need to get the holster for it though, I think after watching Zombieland last night with my wife that I'll be getting a holster for my ranch hand first though. Good buy and a good looking revolver, I know I'd gladly take another.

I've not had a chance to shoot it yet, but I'm dying too. How's the recoil compared to a .480, .454, or .45 LC? Anybody shot them to compare?

So what went wrong? You haven't had it very long to be putting it up on the chop block.

Nothing wrong it at all. The Ruger's like new, but I just can't seem to enjoy revolvers like I do semi-autos. It's a great shooter, but not practical for me. I'd have more fun with a good semi-auto.
