used car dealers

Traveling between Nashville and Murfreesboro it seems we see a 'new' used car lot pop up every other day. Where do they get or get rid of the mass of cars they have?

I remember a news investigation where many used car dealers weren't paying for taxes, tags, or something, that was required by law, so they could make more profit.

Dealer only auctions. Sometimes you have seen a car hauler loaded with used cars going down the interstate. More than likely, that came from a dealer only auction (sometimes from out of state) and is being delivered to the used car lot that bought them. If they sit too long at that particular dealer, they will get loaded back up and go back to the auction.

Also, the new car dealers who are overstocked on trade ins or get one that has high mileage or some other blemish that they don't want to sell, they go to auction as well.

When you go to a "new in the neighborhood" used car lot...make sure you check the car you're looking at for flood damage. That's where lots of cars are coming from these days.

You should always do you research. If it isn't directly from the factory, do your research.

+10, especially now with all the flood and weather damaged vehicles out there.
