We Got Snow

Supposed to start "any minute now" the schools are getting out at noon and my prediction is that the roads will be fine up until about 6 tonight even if it does start.

Yes, this state doesn't go by Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter... we have 365 seasons.

Unlike where I lived in Arizona, there we had 2 seasons... Summer and Christmas.

It doesn't sound like they expect much snow, if any, here. It's supposed to finally hit freezing about 5 PM tomorrow.

That horrendous looking storm front this morning just measured 0.02 inches of rain.

Wow, I just checked http://www.trafficland.com/city/MEM/index.html. I checked it a very few hours ago and Memphis had rain, but nothing white.

UNBELIEVABLE...we haven't had one single drop of rain or one snowflake yet, but they're closing all the area schools at noon today. I never cease to be amazed.

Closed schools here at 6:00am this morning here. Didn't even start raining till 3:00pm, just started with the sleet/snow until about 15 minutes ago (5:00pm)

When I was in school...seems like they waited till there was already about an inch on the ground before they started closing school.

Ummm, we are getting "snow", ok it is flurrying, but hell, this is Memphis, this is all we can hope for!

all white and fluffy here in Lakeland kids are freezing because dad had to whoop some azz in the snowball brawl 2008...lots of fun, my neighbors and I started it so it was three dads against 10 kids...it was awesome!!! but now, we are all haning in front of the fire... I LOVE this!!

We're frosty here... roads have an inch or so on them, but entirely passable. Nothing a yankee can't handle

We've dropped a couple of degrees here in the last hour, down to 37 degrees. It is raining. I don't think the weather guys have a clue about what will happen.

That's OK. To misquote Jerry Reed, I've got no where to go and lots of time to get there. Is it too early to have a beer? ......yeah, I think it is.....

We now have a rain/snow mix....Wow, it's moving to all show as I type. Still too warm to accumulate though.

We got 5 inches or so of snow here last night. That's the most we've had in quite a few years.

I'd post a pic, but I figure y'all have seen snow before.

Mars, that was how it was here yesterday and this morning there is about 6 inches on the ground though it is melting off of the streets fast.

The kids had fun though.

I graduated from high school four years ago, and it was the same way . . . boss called this morning telling me the shop was closed "due to bad roads" and I talked him into opening at noon.

If I can make it in a p.o.s. Eclipse then he better be able to make it in an FX4 diesel F-250!

(It's kinda sad when you WANT to go to work, even if it's snowy/icy, isn't it?)
