Duty calls and i need to move from TN to OR. I have 2lb of black powder, 2lb of rifle powder and .5lb of pistol powder i want to take with me. I packed them in a 50cal ammo can tightly with foam and plan to put the can in the trunk of my car for the ride.

Did i just make a bomb? Am i being too cheap? What do you recommend?

I wouldn't pack your strike anywhere matches in the same can, but otherwise I'd be perfectly comfortable with your arrangement.

That's alot better packed than when it's delivered to the store via UPS/FedEx or whatever.

Youe are good to go.

I threw all of mine in a cardboard box (about 10 pounds) and put it in the trunk when we moved. I did put the primers in a different box though.

Thanks for the reality check. Come to think about it i have had the same can of FFFFG for over ten years and moved 4 times. I did use most of my primers up and will store the rest in a different can.

If only the movers would ship my ammo...
