I 100% am on the cop's side here. Whether they know it or not, a thug that is willing to harm somone with a weapon grabs a container that happens to have a gun in it, THEY HAVE A GUN NOW AND MUST BE STOPPED.

I have to concur with this statement. If she didnt want to get shot, she shouldnt have produced a knife, nor should she have stolen a car nor she she have stolen a police car.

EDIT: I do feel for the deputy that was forced to take a life and I hope he can somehow work through and continue on in life.

Dustin Patrick, the officer in the shooting, is a pretty good, level headed guy. I knew him for several years through a mutual friend when he worked at a car audio / custom shop in Cleveland, and ran into him from time to time when I lived in Bradley Co. and he was an SRO at my son's elementary school (Michigan Ave.). Just don't see him doing something like this lightly, or without the woman really putting herself in a position to get shot.
