Good deal on this safe?

Just bought a redhead gun safe (One by granite security) that's 60" x 20" x 26" for 312$ without the shelves... its combo (not digital)...

Good deal? Bad deal? Average deal?

I'd agree with Mike357, old crumudgeon that he is. (I aspire to be like him someday). Unless it's a very thin-walled, light-weight storage box instead of a safe, I believe that's a more than fair price.

Iirc Granite safes are out of Texas. They are not safes per se but residential security containers.

More than sufficient to keep less than a very determined criminal out. It has a meager fire rating.

I think new they are right under 600 bucks at BPS.

As an aside I am offering a crumudgeon class on the weekends, enrollment fee is an 18 pack of Keystone Light.:)

Man, that's a low entrance fee into the world of crumegdeonness. If I weren't already sceduled for my Scarcasm and Witticism in the 22nd Century...I'b be there with bells and beer!

It's about 450 lbs. It's the older version of the 1000$ redhead safe on basspro right now. I got it on the Nashville gov auction website. When I was picking it up I noticed they had an 800 lb or so champion safe in the warehouse that they hadn put up for sale yet.
