So I want a 9mm "toy" to play around with at the range. I want something that can be shot extremely fast(reliably) Heres the setup I was looking at and would prefer some advice from people that actually have experience with glocks...

Glock 19c with rail

Trigger Job (suggestions)

33rd Glock Magazine

DPM multi spring magnetic recoil reducer (http://www.gunblast.com/DPM.htm)

If this idea will fail miserably or if anyone has better build ideas feel free to throw them in atm its just an idea...

Well, anything will work for a toy. Glocks have lot of modifications and add-ons. I had a pretty tricked-out G23 at one time.

The only compensated handgun I've ever had and that worked as advertised was a Taurus 44 magnum revolver. R-44 I think. Not one of the Bull-crap models. Fine handgun.

The recoil thingies don't seem to do much but drain your wallet. If the handgun needed a recoil thingy, Glock would add it. Personally, I find the Gunblast guy a bit weird.. Maybe the magnetic thingy it will help your arthritis?

I think the extended magazines look - shall we say, "unprofessional" (stupid). But that's just my opinion. I once met a local constable who tried to impress me with one. He tried - I wasn't.

Take your time and research, research, research.

There are lots of P. T. Barnum's out there ready to take your money - especially from Glock owners.

www.triggerkit.com for a better trigger than you could possibly do yourself. For an even better trigger www.vanekcustom.com they are more expensive but worth it.Forget about the snake oil recoil reducer. Also unless you already have the 19C I would go with the 17L,17C or 34 in that order.Good luck.

I wanted the very same thing a year or so ago and ended up buying a G34. Though it is not compensated, It does have the 5.32" barrel and a 4.5 lb trigger. I also put in a KKM stainless barrel and the pistol is perfect for the range. Very little muzzle climb and recoil so I can't imagine it needing to be compensated. My mother, whom I've gotten to get her HCP, shot this during practice and to qualify and loved it. Her only problem was the usual initial limp wrist which caused 3 or 4 FTE's and the magazine was a little stiff for her to load up. I have a 33 round mag as well but rarely use it at the range.

I've never owned a comped handgun, but I've always wanted to try one out. I love Glocks, and I love my G19, but if I were getting a "range" gun, or something to play with, I'd go with the G34. (like alot of the above have mentioned)

My next gun will either be a G21sf, or definately a G34 or G35.
