I've been toying with the idea of selling my mower and getting a zero turn, but i don't know what to ask for my mower. It is a LT1042 made by Cub Cadet, only has about 55 hours on it, bought it in June of '08 and has been serviced at the end of each season. Think i originally paid $1700 for it, I was leaning towards $900 or $1000, but really don't know if that is way off mark. Think I will do a poll and you guys can vote or throw something out there if I don't have your choice.

If it has 55 actual hours on the clock, is clean, been garaged, looks like "NIB" I would start at a bit more than half price. Stress the condition in your ad. See what action you get. Kinda like a firearm, looks and condition. You can always take an offer or lower your price if you have no activity. Biggest problem is that it is made by MTD. The old Cub Cadet quality is no more, has not been in many years.

Not enough information. Deck size, engine size & brand, transmission?

You're competing with low-end manufacturers when you try to sell it. A lot of people don't see the value in a Cub Cadet when they can buy a 38" , manual transmission, single-cylinder Murray for $799, no payment until Christmas.

PS - at 55 hours usage in 3 years, are you sure you NEED a riding mower? :D

I'm not trying to tick you off, but as someone with many years in all phases of landscaping, what you have is a used homeowner grade mower. I would probably offer you $100 for it.

I think you should keep it and use it untill it dies.
