Harmon Killebrew Passes - Getting Old Myself

Recommended Posts

Wow. When I was a kid, watched him play two seasons at Engel Stadium in 'Nooga, hit homers halfway to Missionary Ridge.

I later played in a Babe Ruth League all-star tourney game there myself.

Sigh, "Time and tide wait for no man."

It's really a shame that so few people got to see him play, I did, yep ... glad to be here stilll !!! Got to see almost all the greats back to Mantle, Maris and Mays !!!Lot of hall of fame pitchers too, they didn't have radar guns back then, but they threw just as hard as today. There were just fewer of them. Pitchers would knock guys on there a$$ back then, and they didn't " Hugg" on the field ! I've seen Aron get up and hit a homer !!!

My uncle alias "big red" use to crush the steel poptop cans " sorry this was before pop top this was the ole "church key days". I use to get a kick out of that. I really didn't understand at the time that was no easy feat.
