What was the guy setting out to prove? That the cops up there are ignorant? Rude? Or that he is stupid for putting himself I'm that situation?

Either way, the dude is lucky it didn't go worse. Also, those cops were in violation it does appear. They also were straight up crazy!! To each his own I guess?!

Here the easy thing is to blame to police, what a bunch of idiots. But that is the obvious way out, sometimes things are a little more complicated than they appear. It turns out that the Philly police had no training on the gun laws.

If there is a positive to Fiorino's saga, it is this: The Police Department is trying to make sure none of its officers are ever again caught not knowing basic gun laws.

"Our officers weren't up to speed [because] we never really addressed it," said Lt. Francis Healy, the department's lawyer.

This isn't some Belle Meade civil war pistol thing this a department thinking that addressing the current law is a waste of time. The cops are jerks for being jerks about it, and boy were they, but the department is more at fault than they are.

Though no one is worse than the DA who charged the guy with a crime after it made it to youtube.

This is ridiculous but it's everyones' fault. The older we are, the more blame we carry. It's our fault for EVER letting it get this far. The only reason ANY government figure can crap on a person like that is because we have let them. Now, they are too powerful to resist on any small scale and the people of this country are too weak to do anything else.

SO, the best thing to do is live to see another day, and follow orders like a good little citizen. When he said stop and kneel, that's what he should have done. Not because of what is right, but because of what is right NOW. A gun in his face with the backing of the rest of the department had the person done anything except comply. Guilty until proven to be of no appreciable revenue should be the new creed.

Sadly, this seems to be the case in many ways lately.

I love the motto that is so often touted by law enforcement.."Ignorance of the law is NO excuse" well, someone should be losing their job then.
