Replacement grips

Does anyone here make their own replacement grips ? I need to replace the origional grips on my Colt New Service revolver because the left grip is broken. If you make your own grips do you use a scroll saw or a band saw to cut them out? Just need something to fit my hand better, nothing fancy. Probably use walnut or osage orange. Thanks

Man, Bodock [osage orange] makes some AWESOME grips!!! As it weathers and ages they get really dark. The work I've done with it, i don't even pu a finish on it. I progressively sand it down to about 800 or 1000 grit and let it go. If you go with an oil finish don't get flustered, it doesn't soak it up very well. I used a scroll saw to rough them out and shaped them on a belt sander....SLOWLY. I like to hot glue mine together so they are perfectly alike.

Good luck and post pictures.
