Question about signage prohibiting carry.....

So I took the class to get my permit to carry yesterday & if all goes well I should be able to legally carry my new XDm Compact 9mm in a few weeks.

I went to the mall here in Clarksville today (Governors Square Mall) & went in the food court entrance. I noticed that it had several signs on the door that said "Firearms or weapons are not allowed except as authorized by state or federal law." I didnt see a "Gunbuster" sign anywhere. As I read that, that wouldnt prohibit legal HCP holders from carrying inside the mall right? State law authorizes a HCP holder to carry anywhere its not posted, & that sign seems to be really vague, or maybe its their way of saying that they DO welcome HCP holders. I mean they could have put "No weapons allowed except by authorized law enforcement officers" but they didnt.

Granted its really a moot point anyways, since the entrances to Dicks & Borders arent posted with anything at all about weapons so I would probably just waltz in through there to be safe. But I was just wondering what you guys think about the "except as authorized by State or federal law" part.

I take it to mean that the "authorized by state law" means HCPs.

Thats what I was thinking. Looks like maybe there's finally a mall that actually ENCOURAGES HCP owners to carry in it. :D

I take that as carry concealed and go with it.

Haven't been lately but I go thru the Sears doors and have seen no signage for firearms.

I cant say that I've been in every entrance lately, but I checked about 4 of them the last time I went & the only thing I saw was what I posted above that was on the food court entrance. That entrance is new (probably opened a couple months ago) so I'm guessing they just slapped something on there when they opened it.
