Another Blackberry Storm 2 that is.....

These phones are just junk. This is the 2nd one I have gone through. This time the screen just decided to go black! It will not come back on.

Went to store, they say insurance claim. Problem is, my upgrade is soon and I can't justify paying the $90 replacement cost now, only to turn around and pay for a new one soon?!

What are the chances I can't find a loaner phone until then? Guess it's off to asking around the family and friends....

Stupid cheap phone!

I've been trying to figure out what would be a good replacement phone. Preferably on Sprint but not necessarily.

My Treo 700WX winmobile phone it getting ancient, but it still works perfectly. Has been a champ. It might be better to replace it before it goes down all by itself.

Spent awhile looking at user reviews on just about all Sprint's current lineup. A good percentage of user reviews on every model they sell, are along the lines of "This is the worst phone ever. Bad sound. Poor coverage. Not anywhere near as good as my previous phone model xxx. Hangs and crashes all the time. Drops calls when a text comes in. Blah. Blah"

Maybe people are more likely to write a review if they get a lemon phone, but the user reviews make me want to keep the Treo 700 until it is dead as a doorknob.

There was one expensive brick-sized old-style motorola ruggedized dumb phone that got mostly favorable reviews, though the other motorola ruggedized phones with any smarts at all, got as bad or worse reviews than anything else.

And then there is a Motorola brick-sized Windows Mobile ruggedized business phone that mostly gets good reviews, which retails for $900 and the Sprint "friendly upgrade" price is $500. It gets pretty good reviews. That one runs Win Mobile 6.x rather than 7 though. Though of course the current Treo is Win Mobile 5 and it works fine both as a phone and as a PIM.

Was looking for an Android phone with a keyboard and mobile hotspot features, but all of those seemed to get reviews even worse than the average dismal reviews. Lots of reviewers make mention that the more doo-dads that are added to the phone, the worse the actual phone performance, range, and battery life gets.

If that is true and not just the folks with lemons writing the reviews, maybe it would be time to switch to a reliable brick for a phone, and then carry a pda for the rest of the stuff?

I'm an Apple addict, have been for three years. my iphone is on top of the game interfacing my music, games 400+ contacts and all my internet needs. I used to be a BB user but it was just all calls and buisnes and my music had to go in the sd slot. FWIW i dont care about the location tracking or whatever, if you don't want big bro. to know your biz. then go Amish.

I have never owned an apple product. I have had a blackberry and I have had 4 windows mobile phones. I now have a driod incredible and it is indeed, incredible. Had it for about 10 or so months now and I love it. I go to work, pull up my "iheartradio" app and listen to my right wing propaganda from 8-2 (glenn and rush). then listen to pandora till I go home. Been an outstanding phone so when it it time to get a new one I will either get a new andriod, just don't think the iphone is worth the extra monthly charge when my andriod does all the iphone does.

So, who is offering up another sacrifice for me?! Ha ha ha.....I'm trying my wires old LG Versa but my fingers are way too fat and I'm testing things that a dislexic person would make fun of me for!!

Me & wife got a couple or three good years service from tiny little LG slide phones.

The keys were much bigger than on my Treo 700, but they were flat and in "tiered shelves" and I had trouble accurately hitting them with big fingers even though the keys were relatively large.

The beauty of the tiny buttons on the Treo is that they are tall and rounded, easy to accurately touch-type with big fingers, even though very close-spaced.

Wife doesn't intend to be rough on gadgets but gadgets do not like her very much. After she finally killed her tiny little LG, at that time slide phones had temporarily gone out of fashion. I was afraid a flip phone would be too easy to break.

I found her a bigger but real flat LG slide-phone that has survived for quite awhile. It is not a touch screen. The screen looks like it has been sandpapered but the phone still works fine. :D Dunno what she does to the screen. Maybe cleans it with sandpaper?

They charge extra for the iPhone? AT&T verizon? I'm a big iPhone fan but if the phone costs more per month then I am not such a big fan.

Not just for those phones, for any "smart" phone they require a data package, additional to your talk/text/share package. It's usually $30. I hate that they do this!! Sprint has the best prices on all that, but the worst service in my area. Verizon, which we have, has plans that cost a little more than others, but their service is great here. Im willing to pay the extra having a wife, a 4yr old and one on the way! If they ever needed me I know they can reach me.

**STORY TIME**

was an AT&T user two years ago. My choice to change came on the same day I asked my wife to marry me. After the celebrations, she was making her way home. It was a but wet out and I think she was driving and drooling over her ring! ha ha jk. Well, she went around a curve facing one direction and ended up wrapped around a phone poll, facing another on the other side!!

She tried and tried to call my phone, which was sitting on the arm if my chair, for like 15 min to tell me! She needed to get to er and she had a cut n stuff. He parents were way farther than me so I was first call! Never received that call!! Stupid AT&T! Next morning, took them the phone, slid it across counter, explained story...boom, no more contract with AT&T! Went across street to Verizon and haven't looked back sinc!
