Walmart

For me anyway as my daughter got me a discount. I ordered it 10 days ago online and it came in today to our local store

Apple controls the prices across all retail points. One place is the same as any other.

Apple store, Best Buy, Wal-Mart will all have the same price.

Apple store is probably most likely to have inventory.

For those of you that have one and want to protect your investment I got a saddleback leather case for mine and it is simply astonishing how well it is built. It is no wonder it comes with a 100 year warranty it is built like a tank and fits it like a glove!

Like mine pretty well. Kind of wish it had just a hint of a border around the screen. Sometimes my finger slips into the window and things go nuts.

Wife is addicted to hers.

So far I've been ambivalent about touch operating systems. Maybe my fingers are too fat. Typing is close to a disaster on a touch screen.

Been programming macs since 1986 and have developed a love-hate feeling toward apple.

Been playing with a Mororola xoom for a month or so. I like it better than my iPod touch.

Might try an iPad sometime. Maybe the main thing wrong with the iPod touch is that the buttons are too small for my fingers. Had been figuring if I didn't like the touch, then maybe I wouldn't like a giant iPod touch any better.

but can it read?

either way i am glad you are happy with it I have been considering a tablet myself after I got my Droidx, but I will probably stay in the Android Market but I have not made a full decision yet.

I considered the Xoom before buying a firest generation iPad (at a discount after the iPad 2 released).. and the Xoom just doesn't compare... The touch screen isn't as nice.. it feels flimsy.. and the software isn't polished enough... Which is sad.. because I really like the Xoom's (HoneyComb's) improved notifications and full OS feel (file system and what not)...

Another big thumbs up for the iPad 2. I have bought quite a few so far because we use them at work. Everybody here loves them. I got our first batch the night they went on sale. Because we have a business account, we could set up a reservation time and not have to wait in line. They went on sale at 5 and I got there at 7. the line was huge. There were several people that got pissed off that I was allowed to just walk in and not wait in line. They were really pissed when I walked back out with an arm full of iPad 2s.

We have a couple of Zooms also. I agree with PirateQui that the zoom is nice but up to par with the iPad2. There are a couple of other Android Tablets that will be released soon that look pretty nice. I guess we will have to wait and see how they compare to the iPad 2.
