I just found this forum while researching Tennessee firearms laws. I currently reside in Western Tennessee. I spent 21 years serving as a U.S. Navy Corpsman and retired from active duty in 2002. I've lived all over the U.S. but I feel the most at home in the South. I've enjoyed firearms ever since I was a kid and can never recall a time that I wasn't intrigued by modern and antique weapons. The first handgun that I became proficient with was a 1911 courtesy of the U.S. Marine Corps. Later when I got into law enforcement I carried a S&W Model 66 and later Glock 17 and 19's. One of my favorite concealment handguns is my Walther PPKS.

I enjoy single action shooting and have a .45 caliber Ruger Vaquero for cowboy shooting. After years of qualifying with double action revolvers, semi-auto's and assault rifles it's nice to take a few steps back and shoot a piece of history.

I'm a firm believer in a law abiding American's right to keep and bear arms in accordance with the U.S. Constitution. I try to remain politically active and support the National Rife Association. The NRA isn't perfect but they remain an influential and powerful lobby with Congress to support our rights under the Second Ammendment.

Maybe I'll see some of you at the range or gun store! Stay safe! If you aren't having fun then you are doing something wrong!

Thanks for all of the welcoming words! I hope everyone has a terrific weekend! Please keep the people of Louisiana in your thoughts and prayers. Once the Corps of Engineers opens the Morganza Spillway it will take the pressure off the levees protecting Baton Rouge and New Orleans but many other parts of rural Louisiana will flood.
