if it is an insurance job, I would probably let your insurance agent help pick a shop.

When my wife's car got hit, the other insurance was paying the bill but I talked to my insurance to see who they liked instead of the other company. I went with my insurance recommendation.

If you are paying, sorry I don't know any shops to use in Knoxville either.

I take it you don't have full coverage insurance? My gf's car has $7,000 in hail damage from the storm but insurance is going to total it.

If you don't have full coverage, fixing hail damage is a losing proposition, IMO. If the glass is cracked/broken, that must be replaced but otherwise, I'd just drive it. All the local body shops are buried with work, so it may be a while before anyone can get to it.

If you want to get it fixed, a coworker does body work in his basement. He does good work and would likely charge much less than a body shop.

Whatever you do, avoid Ledbetter Bodyshop in Knoxville. Check out any shop recommended. Stop by and peer inside the work area. Other than in the teardown area, bodyshops should not look like junkyards.

Peejman is right, the local shops are covered over with work. You might consider just gritting your teeth and driving it for a while till all the 'rush' work moves out.
