Recommendations for black powder 410 ga loads

Dear fellow reloaders, TGO opiners, and operatives:_______________

You all are gonna like this; and you all can tell that ive run out of anything productive to do!!! I'm getting ready to load some blackpowder 410 ga (...2 1/2"...) buckshot and regular shot loads for my bond arms snakeslayer (....3 1/2" barrel...).

Got the wads comming from the "Track of the Wolf" and will order the magtech brass shortly. Found some old load data that calls for 30 grains of black powder and 1/2 oz shot. Thirty grains of black powder is just a tad over one dram (...dram is about 27.8 grains of powder...). I think this load is a bit low. We currently load about 35 grains of FF in our 45 colt loads with a 255 grain bullet. It's pretty stiff; but a 45 colt is supposed to be. Having said all this; have any of you all loaded any blackpowder 410 rounds? If so, how much powder did ya use? Let me know what ya think.

By the way, all you real old time pistoleros and shotgun folk owe it to yourselves to shoot some blackpowder in your favorite cannon. The kaboom is great and the white smoke cant be beat for authenticity. There is nothing in this world greater than the throaty kaboom of 12 ga side hammer double shooting black powder!!

I'm a bit downcast, just like the great cinema character George Nelson (...the bankrobber...) in that film classic "OH Brother." It kinda looks to me like there aint anyone experimenting with that tactical powerhouse the 410 gage. Guess that i'll just have to wing this one myself.
