Recommended Posts

The other day I was cleaning my mossberg when a spring poped put of my trigger assembly.I can not figure out where this durn thig goes for the life of me:rant:

It measures about a 1/4 inch I guess, and goes somewhere in the trigger assembly in a mossberg 500a.can someone please tell me where this goes?

Here is a picture of the spring on a scrap piece of paper for size comparison.

From just a quick look at the parts diagram, The only spring that it looks like is an extractor spring. If you are sure that it came from the trigger group, than I would check the trigger spring, it sits right behind the trigger, just at the top of the curve. My diagram is kind of hard to see, but it looks like those are the two coil springs that it could be, the mainspring is much bigger.

Hope this helps,

Sam

Coincidentally I just happened to receive the extractors and extractor springs for my Mossy 500 today, and I can say without a doubt that that is not one pictured above. And hey Sam, it's nice to see you on the board.

No luck with the parts diagram I linked?

The parts list is helpful.Im have been using the diagram in the manual, and it does not show a complete parts breakdown.

Im thinking its the trigger spring that shadow12 suggested.it looks like only two springs in the trigger assy, one being the trigger spring, and the other being the mainspring, and the mainspring is definitely not it.

Now I have the name,I just need to figure out how it goes back in

Would you have happened to had your safty off while cleaning. I know you said it came from the trigger houseing. But it looks like the safty ball spring.
