Chicken or the egg?

I am ready to purchase some NFA items and I have read almost every post in the NFA section. I have one question just to clear some things up for me.

Can I set up a trust prior to purchasing a NFA item or do I have to purchase the items prior to setting up the trust?

Thanks,

Yep, trust comes first, as the trust is the actual owner of the item. We've got a couple of good vendors on here who can help you out.

What if you're new to the NFA dealings, and have already submitted paperwork for a suppressor. Is it a great issue to change the ownership to a trust at this poin?

You pay the tax stamp for each transfer of ownership, so to transfer it to the trust, it would cost you another $200.
