Took a rookie to the range today

Spent the day at the range with a first time shooter. He learned a lot and had a great time. I think we should all make a effort to spread the sport and take new shooters to the range......Surprisingly (considering he is recoil sensitive), he enjoyed the 12 gauge more than anything else. He will be purchasing his first firearm in the morning--a Remington 870.

Anyway, here's a few pictures. I'm the guy in the gray shirt

The first time I went to the range OhShoot took me. He imparted volumes of information. Forgot most of it but remember enough to not shoot myself. Which, despite what some people tell you, isn't that hard. Those things don't go off by themselves.

I digress. It still means a ton to me that OhShoot took me to the range that first time and I still feel grateful. I got to shoot a bunch of different guns (Hi Point 9mm carbine was really nice, so sue me). Though I still feel a little bad that I wasn't able to reciprocate the favor. Well, I did let him shoot my beretta but heck everyone has shot a 92fs. I think the only reason I can sleep at night is because I let him shoot my phoenix .22.

OhShoot did me a huge favor just like you did a huge favor for your friend. I bet he appreciates it for a long time. I know I do.

Fantastic! Thx for adding one to the fold. I owe a debt of gratitude to an ex-Marine buddy from church for taking me out the first time--loads of fun ever since!
