They make trigger bars for Glocks and SR9's. For your other inquiry. SR9's have become very popular and can be found at most gun shops. You can also find them at guns show selling for about $375-$400 new. They tend to cost a little more at big chain stores, but you might catch Ruger running a rebate or sale. Good luck.

That sounds intriguing. Might have to do a little modification to it after I learn a little bit more about dis assembly and pretty much how to modify.

Hopefully tomorrow I can find one at my local shop and get things rolling.

Just got back home after a fun day of Selling my Taurus and shopping for a new semi. Ended up with a nice used..........(Drum roll).... Ruger SR9C. Got a great deal at Guns and Leather in Greenbrier, TN. I did get to use their range to try it out before I bought it so that was also an added bonus. I got 2 mags 17+1 and a 10+1. This was my first trip up to G&L in Greenbrier and I know now it won't be my last.

I'm going to go take it up to my local G&L range for some target practice with the wifey tonight. Can't wait. Maybe I can get Rusty out the house and go shooting tonight too.

It was A dream to shoot tonight. I got the head shot down at 25 Feet.

I love the pull on this compact. I do feel like I have better Accuracy with the 17 round mag with the extender than the standard 10 with the pinky lip. I just love the ease of this gun, but I did try and clean it up after the range tonight with a little problem. I was trying to clean out the hammer or the striker and i just couldn't get both buttons pushed far enough down because I can not get that back striker bar to come all the way forward. I couldn't get in there and clean it yet. Wandering if anybody had tips or maybe a video on how in the world, because when I watch the Ruger video he just puts his fingers on both buttons and easily pushes it with a stamp and it moves fine. Ahh.. the joys of new toys.

You should be practicing center of mass shots instead of head shots.

I was trying to clean out the hammer or the striker and i just couldn't get both buttons pushed far enough down because I can not get that back striker bar to come all the way forward. The striker engages the mag safety first (has the little inclined tab) then the round striker block. When you push on the mag safety, you should hear a click as the striker hits the striker block. Then when you push the striker block, the striker should slide all of the way forward and the pin will extend through the breech face.

You could also remove the striker cover on the back if you want to completely clean the striker and channel. YouTube has several videos showing how it is done.

I actually watched a couple videos last night on the disassembly of the striker but I don't get that pop that everyone else gets when they press both buttons together. I tried for like an hour and a half last night to get it off because it looks realy oily in there, but no luck. I guess i just need to take it back to g&l and see if they can show me or see if they can get it out for me once. My finger tips are gone today so i'm not trying it again until I start to feel my finger tips again. Just didn't know if anyone else had this problem or if it was just me.

Ok After taking it apart today, I did get the click that I needed to hear but it didn't move any more forward on the back spring.. who know.. I did get to take it apart and clean it so Thank god..

It actually isn't that hard to take care of or to disassemble. It was just my first time disassembling a 9mm semi and we all know how that goes. I do feel like the slide is a bit rough to pull back but I have heard if you leave it open with the slide lock for a couple of days that it really makes it alot nicer to pull back and disassemble. I will try it out and tell you if it does make a difference.

A lot of folks buy lowered power springs to achieve the same affect, just be careful. There's a balance between what you want to achieve and what you hope doesn't happen.

For instance, lower power springs increase recoil, since there is less tension in the spring to absorb the force of the slide coming rearward. Additionally, there can be excessive wear and tear to other parts (polymer frame, slide stop, etc.) when a heavy piece of metal (the slide) slams against other parts when it comes all the way back, if the spring is too under-powered.

If compressing the spring like that for only a couple of days makes a noticeable difference, I'd have some serious questions for the manufacturer about the quality of materials in their springs. Seems like this means that the factory recoil spring will wear out prematurely.

All that being said, I've been eyeing one of these for quite a while. Glad to hear you like yours...gives me more confidence to get one too. They are fine looking guns.

Just left the slide as is and after 175 rounds in it the slides feels alot better. I had to adjust my sights today and feel alot better about my body shots now.

I did have a couple shots from body to head.

Yeah I'm going to buy a shotgun later down the road, but for now what type of self defense ammo should I buy. I've seen the Hornady at academy that are self defense hp, but what should I buy to run through my gun a couple rounds and to have at the house. I've been using the trusty WM red box federals for the range, but I haven't seen that much other ammo other than the WWB. I know they are out there for a nice price but what other ammo should I try. Pay day is thursday so I'm going to stock up then.

When I was deciding, I figured that any bad guy that I encountered would not care if it was Hornady, Cor-bon, Winchester, Federal, etc. Find a good sale and buy 200-300 rounds to prove the reliability in your particular gun.

And it seems that the Winchester Ranger is the best deal going in HP right now.

All else being equal, any JHP round is less likely to go through a wall than a FMJ round: I don't think there is anything special about Hornady in this regard. But there are so many variables involved I wouldn't assume that my drywall will stop my stray bullet just because it was a hollow point.

Like I said I'm still new to this gun game. I actually had an employee that was younger than me at academy tell me this. I didn't know if i should believe him or not. He also said the mOnarch brass was as clean as the cci's but I knew better than that. I just saw the plug in the hornadys and never saw that before in a hp.
