NEW GSG-522SD with 110 rd drum magazine

Been wanting one for a while so that the twins can shoot .22 rifles at the same time (the other is a M&P 15-22). It also gives me an excuse to put a few thousand rounds down range on the cheap.

Got it from Arms Faire in Cordova for $449. I saved almost a hundred bucks over going to G&A. Waiting on a few 22rd mags from Chance at Classic Arms and we will be good to go.

Is it one of the old model drums or the new model? Let me know how it holds up. I bought a PK about a month ago and am going to SBR it.

1ST gen drum. I am calling for the free replacement 2nd gen in the morning. They said it is ok to return the old one used. I really don't care for the drum. I plan to use stick mags with it and sell/trade the new drum at some point in the future. BTW the 1st gen drum has a clear plastic thumb wheel and the 2nd gen has black. I have talked with owners of both and most people have had no issues with the first gen and some think that they were a rush job piece of crap.

Chance said that my stick mags should be here around tuesday and I will get it and the lcp out to the range for a test run. I keep purchasing other guns (I am thinking about Sigs to the collection), but nothing seems to get the Glock 19 out of my holster.

I have a a GSG5 with 3 stick mags. Works like a dream. I sent it back to ATI this winter when I started getting a bunch of jams. They replaced a dozen parts including the barrel. I was pleasantly surprised. I have shot about 350 rounds of Federal without 1 malfunction.

This post is an enigma? Does it work like a dream, or jam? Is that 350 rounds with no malfunctions after the repair? If it needed repair, it didn't work like a dream then did it? Well, unless you shot it 10-20K through it first.

It ran fine for the first 3000 rounds or so, then i started getting several jams per mag. I noticed a dent on the bolt group and sent it back to the importer for service. I'm guessing I caused the issue with the bolt, but can't say for sure. The one thing I know for sure is thy took care of the problem and replaced more parts than they needed to. The point is that it's a great firearm and backed with a great warranty. Sorry it was confusing for you.

Yeah mine was total junk when I got it from a fellow member...wouldnt shoot more then 2 or 3rds without jamming....called ATI and even though I wasnt the original owner they fixed/upgraded it for free and even gave me some free stuff. Gun runs great now...usually good for a 550rd box of federal before it starts to act up then a proper cleaning gets it right back to running order again. Overall I am very happy with it and the service I have got from them.

Well, anything mechanical can fail. That was awesome on their part to go the extra mile.

Same here with mine... toward the bottom of the box she'll start to hang up a bit. I do a quick scrub with

a tooth brush, wipe, lube and go. :)

I called ATI this morning and got a RA number to return the old drum mag and they stated that a new drum mag is on the way. Not everyone is having problems with the old drum mag, but I figured if they were swapping them out for the current model I may as well get upgraded before I have issues.

From what I have been reading on ARFCOM, the old mags worked great but cracked. The new mags are built better but have feed issues. YMMV and I hope it does.

Thanks. I have boy/girl twins and my son wants the M&P 15-22, so when school is out in a couple of weeks I'm going to take my baby girl to the range and surprise her with the GSG 522. She shoots a rifle much better than he does (he likes 1911s). It's going to be a fun summer for them. It's nice to be able to buy toys that we can all play with.
