if it is just the sight post being bent I would guess that it was to help sight it in, sort of windage adjustment.

If you want to straighten it, do what I did to bend mine, use a screwdriver and bend it back.

can't promise what your will do but mine did not break, had to bend it a couple of times to get it right where I wanted it. Mind you it does not involve much movement.

The slightest amount will change things.

The question though is, does the gun shoot straight with sight bent?

If it is just a wall hanger, and you want it straight, that is groovy, but if you want to shoot it, and it shoots straight now, bending the sight will make POI off.

The last I heard he no longer makes those tools.

Did not know that. Glad I got one when I did. Then might as well get a Mojo rear sight.

There is hope. As Mike mentioned, tools are available on ebay.

I believe the box with diagonal line is a Ukrainian refurb mark.

Here is a guide of the most common markings...http://7.62x54r.net/MosinID/MosinMarks01.htm

Arsenal Refurbishment mark is what that is. I think.

He has allowed a friend to continue making them. Look at South Carolina Gun Co..
