Just got my first handgun and its a Sig sp2022 9mm. Went to the store to get a 250 and saw the 2022 for $50 more instead. I've heard its a much better gun and was actually looking for something SA. I am really pumped to take it to the range.

I was just looking for any info out there on the 2022 and any advise others might have from their own experiences with it. Thanks.

I have one and I really like it. Only put about 50 rounds through it so far. Mine has night sights and I got an extra mag with it.

Also, is there a specific type of 9mm ammo that works best with it or no?

I have a SP2022 in 9mm and love it.

Im sure you will like yours also. Do a bit of dry fire to smooth the trigger out.

As for ammo it should shoot about anything you feed it. 115gr or 124gr

You didn't do too bad my friend. Great choice! Those are nice guns and can be had @ a real bargain.

Congrats sphill81.

You definitely made the better choice. The 2022 will gobble up whatever you feed it.

Bullet weight might effect accuracy a bit... 115 in fine for practice, but 124 gr will likely be more accurate. Definitely use the heavier weight for SD rounds.

You probably got the short trigger if it's new and small grip. If you have large hands or long fingers moving up in grip size and/or a standard trigger may help with finger placement.

Mine has the short trigger and medium grip (biggest difference in the grip sizes is the swell in the backstrap).

Sigs like to run wet, keep it well lubed. Replace the recoil spring every 5K rounds or so and your grandkids will be shooting it one day. :D

I think they are the best bang for the buck pistol out there. Enjoy it, it's a great gun.

Broke down and ordered a SP2022 in 9mm w/ night sights. These last several threads on the gun broke my resistance. Oh well.

This.

I liked mine so much, I bought another one. And I'll probably pick up one or two more...
