We need more like him today.

All too true. But sadly the numbers of people like John Wayne are ever decreasing. The virtues of faith pride and love of God, country, and pride of heritage are waning. I'd like to think that the numbers of our awesome service members will change the fabric of this nation; to return to a time when patriotism and love of countryis the norm and not the exception...but only time will tell'

There is widespread speculation that John Wayne's cancers were due to accidental exposure to fallout from an atmospheric nuclear test in Nevada while he was filming his awfullest movie, The Conqueror, on location nearby in Utah. Owing to his sense of patriotism and his belief in "Peace Through Superior Firepower," to his dying day, The Duke demanded that his family members and his publicist deny that the nuclear tests had anything to do with his illnesses.
