I already had a fixation with the things before visiting CCA Friday. They did have one stainless Valor and fondling was performed. I'm just not too crazy about the dull stainless finish, plus the one they had a mar on in.

The duty treatment is very durable. I've unintentionally tested it out on other kinds of metal a few times with no affect on the gun.

I've read on 1911Forum.com that the stainless scratches really easily. If I were the buyer I would get the duty treatment, or find a CBOB which I agree is one of the best looking 1911s out there. But ever since they wre discontinued the price has jumped into the $1500 range

Dear Inquirer:

You recently posted an inquiry regarding the Dan Wesson line. I can't speak about the semi-auto line, but I have a .357 revolver with an 8" barrel that is dead nuts accurate at the 25 yard marker at my local shooting range!! The balance is impeccable, and with the extra length on the barrel the kick is quite tolerable. I use .38's in it for targets. I highly recommend one. I belong to GunsAmerica.com and they have a decent selection if you need a reference.

Good luck sir.
