Carry Conceal Scenario/Memphis trip

I have a question about carry conceal permit usage. I am a HCP holder. This is a scenario that I am a bit confused about:

Let's say I am carrying a handgun on my person but I am riding in a friends car with a friend that does not have a HCP. We decide to go into a facility that does not allow handguns.

Is it legal for me to leave my gun in the glove compartment of my friends locked car?

Also, I am going to Memphis this weekend. Any good gun shop suggestions, bits of info, etc. that I should know.

Thats a good question. I'd say yes it would be ok but just to be safe id remove the ammo and possibly just carry it with me or seperate it from the gun just so your friend doesnt get in trouble.

But then on another note I dont think you would have any problems just leaving it in the glove box as long as you dont give a nearby officer reason to search the car.

Guns and Ammo has everything that you would ever want, but the prices are really inflated imo.

Enjoy the Music Fest. The LE presence in downtown will give you the warm and fuzzies. Stay out of Frayser, North and S. Memphis and you should have a great time.

Yes, you can leave it in his car. UNLESS he leaves you behind and drives off with your gun in the car.

I'd leave the gun in the trunk instead of the glovebox if possible. Guns and Ammo usually has a large selection of pistols and rifles. Hope you have an enjoyable time in Memphis.

I believe it is, but it might only be posted during some parts of the day. And then starting at somewhere around 9:00 PM they start with the metal detectors/patdowns/etc. Maybe that's only on the weekend, though. Hell, I don't know. Just another reason to avoid Beale (on top of the crowd and atmosphere that made them start checking people upon entry to begin with...).
