Anyone interested in the Taurus Tracker 992?

Guns and Ammo writes: "But coolest thing from Taurus this year is what the company is referring to as its most versatile Tracker ever. It's called the Tracker Model 992, and it's an interchangeable-cylinder, double-action revolver in .22 LR/.22 Magnum. There have been interchangeable-cylinder .22 rimfire revolvers before, but they have pretty much been single actions. What makes this one so interesting is the fact that it is double action."

The Ruger Super Redhawk 44 mag weights 54oz.

The Smith and Wesson model 27 44 mag weight 48oz

The Taurus Raging Bull 454 Casull weights 51oz

The new Taurus model 992 22LR/22mag weights 55oz. I guess it's to soak up all that recoil......

To quote myself from a post I made in the SHOT show thread back on 1/27/11:

The thing that caught my eye on the Gunblast SHOT report was the Taurus .22 Tracker that has a quick release crane making it convertible from .22 LR to .22 WMR. Looks to have a 9 shot cylinder. I think a DA convertible .22 would be a neat thing to have. I know that they have been made, before, but don't think I have ever seen one for sale and I imagine they would not be cheap if I did.

Comparing to other things from the SHOT show, to me, the DA convertible .22 is more interesting than all the 'mare's leg' lever pistols and 'Judge' variants (and copies) combined. Kel Tec's KSG sounds cool but as I will likely never own one - or at least not for a long, long time, I'd have to say that the Taurus convertible .22 is more interesting, to me, than even the KSG. It does sound like the .22 Tracker could stand to lose a bit of weight, though.

I have more interest in who designed Kate Middleton's dress and I have no interest in that so I have negative interest in the Taurus thing. I literally HATE Taurus guns and cringe whenever I see one, see someone interested in one, or see them release a new one. Taurus is worse than Hi-Point and Jennings because everyone knoews they suck, but people still think Taurus guns are just as good as anything else...WHY?

Ohhhh wow, that brings back memories of a sweaty arcade and sneaking cigarettes! Kids today have no idea what an arcade even is. Thanks for the reminder Bender!

Oh man that brings back memories...one violent game...memories of chopping off limbs with a chainsaw....made mortal kombat look like chucky cheese.

And as to the op....no interest here.

It's good to know where you stand. :)

Personally, I have had good luck with the 3 Taurus revolvers I have owned. I wonder if the 55oz weight includes both cylinders? I am interested, I like double action rimfires and it would nice if it shot well with both cylinders.
