I probably shouldn't have gone outside earlier, shook my fist at the sky, and screamed "Where the hell is this God of yours??????"

Hey, it worked out okay for Lieutenant Dan, I thought it'd be ok.

It wasn't that. It was your affinity for monkeys. :)

Saw a little upshoot start to form earlier on edge of Lookout Mountain from work, but it quickly dissipated. Just sitting by the window watching the storm hoping my apartments were built sturdy.

I keep sitting here in Oak Ridge and listening to the weather and nothing major is going on here, then some one calls in to the Radio station about 4:35p.m. I know this as I had just picked up my wife and the second wave had just pasted over us.

The radio, WIVK put this guy on and he told a tale of how the sky was getting darker and the clouds had some rotation to them, I looked at the sky that was getting brighter and ask me wife do you see what he sees? She said no, I said now see don't believe everything you hear on the radio.

I really don't like it when they let everyone call in to radio shows and give live reports as you get unconfirmed reports from people that just like to hear themselves on the radio.

We barely had wind during the first 2 waves that went though today in Oak Ridge today, so far.

We have wave 3 coming now.

I am not saying Radio stations should not warn people, I am not saying that at all, I am saying that should not try to turn it into ENTERTAINMENT at the same time. Perhaps that should get some reliable people in different locations that the contact when they need a report instead of just random people.

Bout two hours of laptop battery life here in 'Nooga on dialup. Every section of Chattanooga area has at least 500 outages according to power board site. Last I heard on radio was 75,000 plus. Lots of straight line wind damage and I guess an actual small twister or two in what they call Chattanooga Valley. Hamilton County quite dark tonight. I saw first ever of the fabled "golf ball" size hail this afternoon right here in Mom's back yard. Spent afternoon reading on back porch, except when it was off and on too dark!

I hiked in a lot worse weather on my Appalachian Trail thru last year. Went over Mt Washington in bad fog and 70mph winds, you gotta lean over when you are walking.

We hiked up to mt leconte again this spring and it got crazy cold overnight with massive winds. Funny how you can start with shorts on and end up wearing a down jacket and ski bib.

Got golf ball and a couple racket ball size hail tonight, hope everyone came out ok.

You would have seen the same thing right here in Knoxville....at least quarter size.

Wow. These really DID look like golf balls, quite perfectly spheroid, too. Looks like Knoxville still has lots of stuff coming your way that's past here, and there's still more south of here, too.

Revise my previous blackout report: got out in car, we're actually in a somewhat isolated dark area, maybe 9 square miles; East Brainerd on the outward side of the interstate (Gunbarrel Rd, Mall, all that, still powered up), couple of EPB trucks down the way, looks promising for a fix maybe by tomorrow.

South Knoxville really getting hammered with hail. Had a few baseball size and a lot of ping pong ball size. We have three cars and a two car garage. Guess who was the last one home. My car is covered with dents. It's too dark to see the roof of the house. Some of our friends lost all the windows on the front of their house and their car windshield. This sucks

Lots of property damage and injuries. Got a friend in sand mountain that I am worried about. They got hit HARD!

Even the ole timers have never seen it hit so much and so hard in a short period of time.

So far I am blessed ... Fingers-crossed and praying.

Over 50 cases of entrapment or missing in Bradley County.

Insanity. We haven't been hit yet, but there is more on the way.

A possible tornado touchdown was reported in Huntsville area in Scott County earlier this evening and my next door neighbors house was just hit by lightening around 7:00 tonight. Scared the blazes out of everyone, but the fire dept. responded quick & only minor damage was done. :usa:
