Forgot to mention that a lady I used to work with took the class a week or 2 before I did and called the same day and got the same answer. I'm guessing they issue in batches?

Maybe I should call about mine Tuesday. I turned in my stuff March 14, and I'm still waiting... Man, I'd be annoyed if it got sent to the wrong address or something. :D

What I find interesting is that I've seen a few people in this thread said they've called and gotten the response that it was being issued that day. Like what happened to me and my friend. I'm wondering if there's a correlation or a coincidence.

I have noticed that too.

You can call but Ive called twice and they have just filled me with BS. They told me they were still processing mine and it would be 3 weeks after they heard from my local sherrifs dept but I talked the guy who did my saftey class and he said the Head of the thing told him that I should be getting mine anyday. The problem they are having is they had to go back and do more thorough background checks on people renewing due to some people getting their permit renewed that were allowed.

I called Tuesday, 5/27 to check on the status of my (new) application. I sent my fingerprints in ~4/22, and just wanted to see where I was in the system. The nice lady who took my call told me that she "could go ahead and issue the permit today". I thought that was a little strange, like the app was just sitting there, waiting for attention, and if I hadn't called, it might still be sitting there.

It came in the mail yesterday, 5/31.

Glad you got someone friendly. When I called last week, I got someone who was about as jovial as a bee's ass. Told me rather abruptly that they had to wait on the background check, and I should call back the next week.

Oh well. So what happens if they don't issue the thing within the 90-day window? Can I sue them for a few million due to emotional distress, both for me and the mail lady?

Sarah Simpson at the Department of Saftey gets a big thumbs up! She faxed me temp! She was very nice and said that they were absolutely covered up.

Mine took all of 9 weeks to arrive. I started to think my GREAT GREAT grandma might of been a felon:tinfoil: Then I found out all you have to do is call and they can push the paper work through the system. You've got to love our tax dollars at work:screwy:
