Its been a month since I submitted for my permit. I called today to make sure they had all of my info. The person on the phone but me off before I even finished asking by asking for my drivers license no. She sounded about as interested in her job as someone asleep would be. I was told the permit would be issued today and that I would receive it in 7 to 14 days. Sounds like the standard line from what I have read here. I guess we'll see.

7-14 days usually means 7 to 8. If it was issued today you should get it next Mon. or Tues. Mine was issued on July 16th and I received it on the 24th.

Got mine today. Total of 41 days. Made the call at 34 days and got the '7 to 14 days' thing. Turns out to be 7.

I just checked my dates, and I put in for my permit on Oct 14th, I called on Nov 10th to check and got the 7 to 14 days thing, and just received it on Nov 17. 33 days. Sweet.

Submitted my paper work Oct. 22 and I received mine in the mail today Nov 21. What, 4 weeks? Seems they are getting better.

Strange thing. My wife made 'the call' exactly one month after fingerprinting and was told there was one backround check that had not gone through. They told her to call back in 7 days. Then the next day she got her permit in the mail! Go figure.

I called a couple days ago and was told I was still processing. I turned my things in on Oct 30 and when I called they said it didnt all get there until Nov 6th.

I got mine exactly three weeks from the day I sent everything off...had it for four days now.

I applied on Nov. 10th and received mine on Dec 2nd.

Pretty good turn around for the State...

The Mrs. turned her paperwork in on 11/5 and had her permit on 12/1 with an issue date of 11/21. Not too bad.

I applied on October 27th and they issued on Nov 18th. Three weeks isn't bad. Now I just have to ask my mom if she has it sitting at the house somewhere!! (I'm an out of state student)

I called and yolonda (i think that was her name) said she would issue it today. said I passed bg check and she saw no reason not to issue it. so 7-14 days probably sooner she said.

As I mentioned in other similar thread, it seems apparent they've made some changes in the permit dept., must've thrown some money and/or technology/personnel into the mix in the last couple months. Whole DOS website redone, too.
