I have a SKS with one of the "sporter" stocks I saw a "pin kit" available to covert to folding stock. What are the laws governing such a thing ? There is a disclaimer of sorts on the package of the pin kit. Lil help from ye of greater knowledge.

I had one at one time. I know the folding stocks were illegal under the old AWB, so they were sold fixed. Same folding apparatus, just locked in the extended position.

Frankly, I was pretty disappointed in mine. Aside from the fact that I like the wood stock version better, I found the folding stock was loose at the hinge and took some work to shoot accurately. The entire stock just didn't feel as solid as the original version, partly due to the light weight and I think partially due to the fact that it was somewhat hollow.
