Iphone/Outlook 2007 Calendar sync issue

iPhone/Outlook 2007 experts: Mine use to sync, it doesn't any longer. I deleted iTunes and 4 other associated programs and reinstalled, as a possible solution from Apple support. I did a couple of other things that the support page suggested. Still not working. Any ideas?? I really need to fix this.

Turned phone off, rebooted phone, turned PC off, restarted, Ran a diagnostic in itunes, everything checked out. Reset sync history, etc.

When it syncs in iTunes, it shows that the Calendars are being synced, but the entry's don't go from the phone to Outlook, or Outlook to the phone.

I've read where a bad entry in notes (nothing being on the top line for the title), or other could cause this, nothing new nothing changed that I remember.

Thinking about doing a "Restore" in iTunes to see if that will clear it.

Any ideas before I do that?

Have you tried syncing it on another computer? If it won't sync on another computer then I'd assume the phone has somehow gotten messed up and you might need to restore. If it will sync then I'd assume it's the computer and would keep looking for a solution.

I never had that happen when I was using Outlook '07 so I'm not sure what could cause it.

Have you made any other recent changes to either the phone or to your computer? Does this happen on both wi-fi and 3g? My phone had an odd issue where it would not accept push emails from my outlook client over wi-fi, but would fetch mail just fine. When I turned off wi-fi, everything worked as normal. That issue ultimately resolved itself, but it could be something strange like that.

Oh yeah, you didn't accidentally uncheck the sync calendar option, did you? I forgot the obvious question in the post above!

It is checked, I did check that first!

Mine is not set up to update via Wifi, nor do I use Mobileme.

Don't have Outlook 2007 on any other computer I own. Got an older version on my home PC.

When you restore it, what will I lose?

When you restore you have 2 options.

1 will be a factory setting restore which will wipe everything off the phone and you will have to transfer everything from your computer back to phone. Whatever isn't on the computer will be lost. Your settings will all have to be reset as well.

2 will be a restore from most recent back up which should have everything from the last time you made s backup of your phone but that's pretty much like putting a clone of your phones harddrive back on the phone. That's what has happened when I did the backup option

I sync, all the time, it appears all the other items sync properly. I'm restoring, see what happens. Keep you fingers crossed!

I moved some stuff around on iTunes, synced, and they had moved on my iphone. We will see.

It's done with the restore, it is syncing, putting all the apps back on....I hope. It is taking awhile... Maybe this will help speed it up some, it has gotten slow with some things, like opening the camera. It looks like most of the apps on itunes are not selected, I will need to, once the first sync happens, reselect them so that they will be put back on the phone, unless it does something automatically further into the sync.

Good sign, 3 Outlook reminders popped up that I have not seen on the PC before, which IIRC were on the phone, so maybe it worked. Taking awhile, copying my ipod stuff.

Finished syncing, calendar is working again. no apps, other than the standard ones. Well get to rebuild it. Looks like it will be fine and all my data, pics, songs, podcasts, email, etc is there. Just no apps or folders.

Glad you got it all sorted out. I haven't had anything like that happen before. Only time I've had to restore is when my phone messed up when it was trying to update to newer firmware.

There was an update, what 2 weeks ago, can't remember if it was only iTunes and the phone OS as well, I think it was both, and I don't think that it has synced since then, by looking at my calendar and what was missing. I wonder if when it was updating last time, something didn't happen and corrupt it so that it wouldn't sync. I'm thinking, that might be what the issue was. I've had this a year and this is the first and really only problem I've had with it.
