Third time is a charm..Taurus 24/7

So last August I purchased a 9mm Taurus 24/7 OSS DS from Bud's. When I got it it was a well used gun and was missing the front sight. So I sent that one back and ordered a new one to replace that one so I wouldn't have to wait for a refund. I was assured the new pistol would be inspected because there was a shipment of Taurus pistols that didn't have front sights installed. Second one arrived, also missing the front sight. So after some discussion I took the second pistol because Bud's was having some sights sent. A few weeks later I got the sights but they were not the correct sights I was supposed to have so I purchased a tritium front sight with my own money. In the end it took 3 weeks before I could fire the first aimed shot.

Because of the problems I lost interest in the pistol and sold it shortly after. I did notice that there seemed to be some quality control issues with it. Some of the internals seemed to be fitted with a file. The barrel was extremely rough and would never come clean and I am sure this didn't help the accuracy although it did shoot well enough.

Monday I ordered and yesterday I received my third 24/7 OSS DS in 9mm. It is the tan and black version. Upon complete disassembly I noticed everything internally seemed to look and feel a lot better. I completely disassembled the gun, including the trigger/action block in the frame in order to get rid of all the glue type grease they ship with. Another great find was that the barrel is leaps and bounds above the last one. I would even go so far as to say it is a nice looking barrel. And finally, the biggest thing that impressed me, it actually came with a front sight this time. Not tritiums but a nice set of three dots. These will get the glow in the dark treatment or possibly a fiber optic set.

I haven't shot it yet but the trigger feels way better than the last one. The slide to frame fit seems to feel better that what I recall from the last one as well. I hope to get a few hundred rounds through it over the weekend then it will probably replace my 1911 as my EDC.
